Police simply activate the device and begin recording evidence that will negate any disputes as to what actually happened.

The Whois Policy Review Team's scope was to "review the extent to which ICANN's Whois policy and its implementation are effective, meet the legitimate needs of law enforcement, and promote consumer trust."

The team has posted a draft of their Final Report [PDF, 1.04 MB] for public comment until 18 March 2012. Comprehensive and straightforward, the report lays out systematically what the team found lacking with Whois policy and what they think should be done about it.

For example, after reviewing Whois policy and its implementation, the team determined that it has not kept pace with the real world (citing the introduction of Internationalized Domain Names and the emergence of privacy and proxy services). Further, the team finds that ICANN has neglected to respond to the needs of law enforcement communities "both in the accuracy of Whois data and in response times for access and action," and also finds that the current implementation of Whois services does not help to build consumer trust. Once logged in with your Google Account, you can now like videos, subscribe to channels, and flag videos using just your Google Account. You can also add videos to Watch Later.

While you're logged in, YouTube will keep track of your viewing history, and use videos you’ve watched, videos you’ve liked, and your subscriptions to recommend other videos for you to enjoy. With 48 hours of video uploaded every minute, we’re sure to find you at least a couple more videos worth watching!

Over the months ahead, we will be enabling additional YouTube features to work with your Google Account. What you see here in the photo is the Cube 3D Printer, and I believe that soon every home will have something like it, just like every home has a “2D” printer now.I got a chance to see it demonstrated at CES, and I discovered that 3D printing is even more accessible than I thought. I have seen 3D printers at work before, but the Cube made some very detailed models that I didn’t think were capable of a 3D printer.For example, I saw a figurine that had several colors on it, and I simply assumed that it was made on a 3D printer and then painted later. To my surprise, I was told that the figurine was printed out, in full color.You can purchase the Cube here at a cost of $1,999. That is a little expensive for a typical household, but as I recall, so were most PCs back in the day.It really is a matter of the 3D printing technology getting better and cheaper before it is adopted into every household, and it looks like Cubify could be the company that really “gets it out there”, like TiVo did the DVR. ePawn Arena set to be a game-changer

I’m sure that by now you are probably sick of hearing the term “game changer”, and I apologize for using this buzzword in the title. However, I guarantee you will like what this post is about.While wandering the booths at CES last week, I discovered the ePawn Arena. It uses ePawn tracking technology for a large 26 inch IPS screen, which enables you to place game pieces for a very interesting gaming experience.The demonstration showed an iPhone plugged into this thing, and the user could play a game using physical markers like chess pieces. The touchscreen seemed to know where these pieces were, and it creates a rather interesting environment for gaming.The ePawn Arena is designed to link to smartphone, tablet, or PC and can be used for role-playing games and board games. This isn’t the first time that I have seen board games mixed with touchscreen interactive devices. After all, there was the Game Changer and Wowee’s AppGear, both of which had prominent appearances at CES.The ePawn Arena is expected to be available in the “second half of the year”. I do’t seem to have a price, but the flyer I have on the product promises “patented technology provides state of the art performances at an affordable price”. Hopefully the average household can afford something such as this.

Forget the Segway, ride a Trikke!

I suppose that the Segway industry really has yet to take off, but I like the idea of personal mobility. I suppose I would have to group the Trikke with Segway-style products, but the Trikke has three wheels and not two self-balancing ones. I got a chance to ride a Trikke at CES 2012, and I found that it was about as difficult to learn as a self-balancing motorcycle. At first, I was a little hesitant to make any sharp turns, but I found that with a little practice, the Trikke is highly maneuverable.The maximum speed on it is 17 mph, but you’ll probably cruise along at about 12 mph. It is completely electirc with zero emissions, and is good for 24 miles per charge. The battery just plugs into the wall, and it is easily swappable.The Trikke can fold down to a smaller shape, sort of like a stroller, so it is easily portable. It really does have a lot of personal mobility uses like security, tourism, and just getting around conveniently overall.As you might have guessed, this fun doesn’t come cheap. LG introduces new Prada phone

Luxury phones like Vertu are an acquired taste – personally, I do not see much sense in forking out insane amounts of money on a handset considering how technology ends up obsolete after a while, so what are you going to do with the phone when you want to make an upgrade? Melt all the gold and make an earring, while making sure those diamonds are removed beforehand? Well, thankfully those who want more elegance and class for their handsets can always settle for something cheaper than a Vertu, without sacrificing too much in terms of quality. LG and their Prada phone by LG 3.0 is now public in South Korea, while those living in Europe as well as other parts of Asia will have to wait until January next year to get their mittens on it.

Originally announced last month, the Prada phone by LG 3.0 was unveiled in London a fortnight ago, attracting a fair amount of attention in the process considering how it is the only smartphone on the market right now with premium branding. This is the third Prada phone, hence its name. Just what kind of high end physical features can you expect to see with this? We are talking about a full glossy touchscreen on the front, in addition to Prada’s signature Saffiano pattern on the back. The entire phone is also an engineering marvel, measuring a mere 8.5mm thin, sporting minimal hardkeys and a classic black finish.
There is also a 1.0GHz dual-core /dual channel architecture to keep things running, where the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update is coming your way sometime in Q2 2012, so you will just have to make do with Android 2.3 Gingerbread until then. Sporting up to 8GB of internal memory, the 4.3″ touchscreen display sports a WVGA (800 x 480) resolution at 800 nits of brightness. Nokia Lumia 900 was made for the US

Remember when Nokia first announced the Nokia Lumia 800 and Lumia 710 a few months ago, being the first Windows Phone powered devices from the Finnish phone manufacturer? Many of us living Stateside were complaining and wondering just how come Nokia did not roll out those phones here first, but concentrated on Europe and Asia instead. Well, here is a phone that is born and bred from Nokia’s stables that will cater to the good ol’ US of A – the Nokia Lumia 900. This puppy was specially developed for AT&T, and it will offer a larger screen, faster processor and support for the fastest mobile data transfers available to date.

The Nokia Lumia 900 will let you (theoretically) enjoy data downloads up to 50Mbps on AT&T’s 4G LTE network, but I am not quite sure just how real world performance would be like, especially when there are many people riding the same network with you. Should you happen to live in areas where there is no 4G LTE coverage, then the step down would be HSPA, which is pretty much speedy by itself as well.

Specifications include a 4.3-inch AMOLED ClearBlack display at 800 x 480 pixels, a 1.4GHz processor underneath the hood supported by 512MB RAM, 16GB of internal memory that can be further augmented by a microUSB memory card slot, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 2.1 connectivity, A-GPS, USB 2.0, and SkyDrive cloud storage. Imagine all of that crammed into a body that weighs just 160 grams. As for the 8-megapixel camera with a Carl Zeiss lens and a dual LED flash that delivers a larger, f2.2/28mm aperture, you can be sure that your low light shots the next time you go out clubbing would be something worth looking at. Just make sure those drunken expressions do not actually get shared with the public, otherwise your future job applications might actually end up in jeopardy.
